Title: help wiring nova matrix light to unique power supply
Post by: SlayerAlex on January 15, 2010, 05:53:51 pm
my first attempt at wiring a nova matrix marquee light made it pop and smoke. :( so i got another one and am asking for help this time. I have a cherry master gambling game power supply and was wondering if it was possible to power it with that. and if it is how so.

Heres the power supply

it has a 4 pin and 2 six pin molex things.

here is the adapter that came with the maruqee light

here is how i tried to wire the first one that caused it to smoke and break

i connected the power supply yellow wire to the lights black wire, and i conected the power supplys black wire, to the lights red wire.

i assuming i got these mixed up. But i just want to make sure since in  order to get the adapter they sent to fit on my power supplys conector i did have to wittle off a pointy plactic corner that was stopping it from conecting. = /

The power supply does have a 3 pin molex conector but thats alreay being used by the monitor so cant use that. and help would be apreceated! thanks

The red wire goes to 12V and the black wire goes to ground.   Check with a meter if you are not sure of the wires on your power supply.
