Was watching around for some vintage receivers to add to my gameroom. I was at my brother-in-law's and he still has a vintage audio set for his main music entertainment and I kinda fell in love with the look, the feel of the tumble switches etc.
So I did some searching for Marantz receiver's because I've always loved the tuning gyro-wheel, and then I came across this one:

Must be the ultimate receiver for any vector-game lover :D
Yes built in oscilloscope. Hook it up to your favorite vector game and see it on the tiny screen (and probably hear some weird noise ! :D
The 2500 and 2600 have it too:

If you want one, expect to pay SERIOUS money for them.....they're great quality and highly collectible....
Think I might go with something in the 2200 series....don't need loads of power...but I do want the blue-lit dial and as many analog meters as possible :D

My step father in law is big into vintage amp/speaker equipment. He picks up sweet vintage equipment all the time at the local goodwills. Some of those old 100 or so watt stereo amps blow the hell out of modern 500 watt setups.

I just picked up a 2238 this weekend. Nothing beats the old Marantz or Sansui receivers. I have an old Dual turntable that I am restoring too, hope to have a completed vintage system together soon.
Vinyl rules! :afro:

+1 for vinyl !
I've got a Technics SL-1410 (the home version of the famous 1210 that about every vinyl DJ uses) with an Empire cartridge. I love the warm sound of vinyl....beats every digital medium I've heard so far.

That's pretty cool. There are enough vintage audio guys around here that you'd never find one at the salvation army stores.

well it doesn't so much replicate it as create it, but its still a much nicer sound , electronic stuff sounds a bit sterile in comparison

yeah , i meant to put in my opinion at the end of that, i used to dj so its a nostalgia thing for me, but if i was a dj now id be carrying a laptop not 2 extremely heavy boxes of vinyl

Laptop ? Who needs a laptop ? Thought they used iPod's now ?
I found a Marantz ST600 tuner for sale around here. This also has the ultra-cool build in mini-scope.
But that's only a tuner AND it's from the area where Philips took over Marantz.....so quality is probably a lot less..(although Marantz sure re-gained quality a good time later, I love my Marantz CD67 Special Edition).
