Title: SF3: Third Strike Stopped Working
Post by: LilMikey on January 15, 2010, 08:29:25 am
I waited through the 20 minute 'install' process for SF3: Third Strike a couple days ago and launched/played it maybe 6 times since then.  Now when I load the game the screen is mostly black with just white text outlines.  It appears to be 'running' just unusable.  I tried replacing the CHD with an untouched one thinking I could go through the install process again and it would just working but it launched as if it were already installed and still unusable.

I just finished the install on fight for the future and it's running correctly so I don't think the problem is systemic.

And ideas/suggestions?

Thanks,
Mike

Figured it out.  Hold F2 and there's an option to reinstall everything.  After that, it's all good again.

yeah, your NVRAM file got corrupted somehow.  If you back it up then you can save time if that happens again just by copying your backup over the corrupt file.

Good to know.  Do I only need to back up the chd or are the other files that need safeguarding as well?

Thanks,
Mike
