So, my arcade is finished now and all that's left to do with it is install the OS/Software.
I plan on using a usb stick but i don't know of any good operating system to use off it.
I've tried to use AdvanceMame on a usb stick but i can't even create it!
Any ideas would be appreciated!

So... you are looking for an OS to install on the stick? Like Windows XP, Windows Vista, Linux? I don't understand the question fully? And if you are looking for an OS to run on the stick... may I ask why? There are much better solutions that running an OS via USB..

I need something that i can boot off a disc or, ideally, a usb stick.
I tried all the common ones, piapara (wont display on my monitor), arcadeCD (doesnt support my hardware)
I only have a usb stick to work with and im really stuck now, i need help :(

How many GB's are we looking at here?

I am still not understanding why it needs to boot from a cd or a usb. Have you looked into virtual machines? I dont think an arcade will kill your system resources. Also depending on the size of your USB stick I would look into Ubuntu. Ubuntu is a free open source flavor of linux. Very user friendly. Before anything you will have to make sure that your computer is able to BOOT from USB.. You can check these settings in the BIOS.

I only have a 2Gb usb stick to work with, i have no spare harddrives to use so i was hoping i could just use a usb stick.

based upon your answer I would looking into running a virtual machine. What are the specs on your computer including: free hard drive space.

I guess i messed up explaining my situation.
My arcade is running off an spare laptop which has NO harddrive in it, im trying to run something off a usb stick instead.
Ive tried AdvanceCD off USB and i've also tried piapara but neither worked.

try Ubuntu... You can run it off a CD for sure and I think you might be able to run it off a USB Stick.. Good luck Let me know how you make out.. Remember Ubuntu is Linux based!!
