hi i just thought i would show my newly completed cab as ive asked quite a few questions on here to help me get this far.
i just want to add a coin door to the 3/4 cab and im replacing the happ j sticks to sanwas when they arrive, and then all i need to do is steal a nice pub buffet to go with it.
this is the second machine ive built (first was bartop shown below) and really want to start another now i think im addicted! even tho it was alot of stress building this 1.
the bar top was built from an old laptop and just played classics but i ripped it apart for the bits to build the 3/4. luckily i still got the case and laptop so think ill re do that 1 with a better cont panel and paint job.
so thats it would like to thank everyone on here for the advice and info that made my dreams come true!
now i just need to try and get good at the games

Not a big fan of the bartop, but I really like your 3/4 machine. It looks like a hybrid of a typical Western cab and a Japanese candy cab. Good size, too apparently. Maybe it would benefit if you gave it an overall theme, like this it looks a little bit cluttered. Just my two cents though, it's already a nice little cab!

I like the bartop more myself, not a big fan of 3/4 machines as they are harder to steal a sneaky game on when walking past (when you are actually supposed to be doing something else ;) )
I noticed your name... Liquidsins.... was that decided before or after finishing the Red Square?

cheers for your replys , i see what you mean about the theme but i dont want it to seem as if its dedicated to 1 game, im trying to get the multi game feel across without using mame logos.
im ready to purchase a coin door this week but have a few queries about getting it working, i understand i need to get some power to it for lights and to get mame to register a coin but i want to do this without opening up my pc, can i just wire it all up to my ipac? doubt it could be that simple tho!
can anyone shed some light on this please.

No answers but questions. :) Can you shed some more light on the details of using a laptop? Do you have the screen just folded over on the back or how did you do that?
I got a couple laptop projects that I need to get started on and wanted some insite.

basically i just disconnected the screen which is connected by a lead with a connector on it which gave me a bit more to play with and laid the rest in the bottom. just make sure you leave enough space in the base for bottom of joysticks and buttons.

so nobody can tell me a way to connect coin door to power supply without opening pc?
-
Either cut into the power cord after the voltage adapter, or build a T fitting that would have the DC jack Male and Female on it with your power wires coming out. Wire the button to the IPAC.

ok thaks for the reply, sounds abit complicated and dangerous for a guy like me to attempt or is it easyer than it sounds.
was hoping there was something i could buy and plug staight into mains(something simple) is there any videos or diagrams arond on the net to give me a clue? thanks
