Title: Monitor braniac required, apply within.
Post by: Apollo on July 23, 2003, 04:18:43 am
I have just bought a cab with a 26" monitor. I had always planned to buy a cab with a 15Khz monitor and use an ArcadeVGA card. I have just realised that I have no idea what the res of this monitor is. It is a Toshiba monitor and on the tube is a sticker that says A66JLH90X01 (zw) and then just underneath 8935. Does anyone have any ideas? Or do you need more info. How do I find out what res it is?
Thankyou.

You'll probably be reduced to visiting www.therealbobroberts.com and comparing your monitor PCB to the shots there until you find a match.

Are you sure it isn't 25"?  It probably is, I didn't think they made 26" arcade monitors..?

What game is the monitor from?  Most real video games just use standard res, but it could be medium res, VGA, or support multiple freqs..

There is a label on the back that says 26" CRT.
The monitor is in a generic jamma cab and the game it came with is Bomberman.

Hm.. if that's all the info you can find you'll have to try the cap maps.  Those numbers are probably just identifiers for the tube -- the easiest way to figure this out will be to find out what kind of chassis it uses.

If it was a Bomberman, BTW.. I'm thinking it would have to be standard res.. I know of no Bomberman game that used a medium or VGA res ???
