Title: Wear on my Oscar Joystick Mounting Plates
Post by: allroy1975 on July 23, 2003, 01:23:19 am
I got 2 Oscar Mounting plates so I could easily use the restrictor plates.  In my opinion, it's the best money I've spent on the Cab.
I can see, though, after about a month or so of use, the black finish is starting to come off, where my hand rests on the mounting plate.  I don't care THAT much, because I think it'll make the game look a little older and thereby more authentic (wich is what I wanted when I built it).  Is there any way to prevent this from happening?  or has anyone else had a similar issue?
Thanks as always
Matt

I noticed it scratched easily. I had the black dimpled version.

Of course I've since sanded the paint off, primed it, and put about 6 layers of color shifting spray paint on it.

To prevent it from rubbing off try coating it with just a clear semi-gloss finish.
