Title: 19 in wells no vertical deflection...IC3 Blown-up
Post by: ZMB on January 05, 2010, 03:25:04 pm
Well, IC3 (upc1488h) took a dump and decided to explode on me. I don't have any more on any other chassis boards or on-hand in any other capacity. I do have a bunch of boards that us the pc1378h IC's but I can't find if they cross to each other...Does anyone know if it is safe to use a pc1378h instead of the upc1488h?

cheers,
ZMB

usually best to stay with orig numbers as much as possible.

looking at the pinouts , they do match with modification. so, it may work in a pinch .
pin 1 and 9 are not used on the upc1488h   Vcc 26v
upc1378  Vcc 24v    start pin 1 in the hole of orig IC
la7831 can sub the upc1378  cut pins 1,2 and 9

the 2 volt ratings difference might be a problem for long term use..... ?

be sure to check Vcc supply. may also have open fused resistor/shorted diode
