Title: ipac dangling in cp box...okay?
Post by: hulkster on July 22, 2003, 05:52:37 pm
im getting ready to attach the top of my cp to the box part of the cp (bottom) and i was wondering if its okay to leave my ipac dangling.  ive connected all the wires to my controls (in test phase) and it seems like if i dont put any support underneath the ipac in the box, it will kinda dangle vertically, but one of the corners will touch the bottom of the box.  so its sitting on one of its corners, and held up by all the wires.  is this bad?  i wont be a huge deal to put a piece of wood in there, but i was just wondering.

It should be fastened to a surface with some plastic feet (using the 4 holes in the corners). If you leave it dangling it could swing around and yank wires loose if someone got to excited shaking the cab/panel

Leaving it dangling by the wires will put extra strain on the wires and something may come loose.  It is always better to mount your electronics solidly.   You can get nylon spacers at Home Depot and put small screws thru them to mount the ipac if you cannof find plastic feet.
