Title: Wiring Pots....
Post by: Aceldamor on July 22, 2003, 04:14:51 pm
I've seen Pots wired to Game Ports. My question is can they be wired up another way?   ???

My first post was a little vague......

I've been checking out possible ways to have pedals on my cab for my 360 wheels.  The Pedals I'm lookin' at have pots on them, but I really don't want to have to wire everything up to a game port.

Is it possible to wire a pot. to an I-pac? I don't think so, but I wanted to be sure before I buy theese pedals.

You can't wire a potentiometer to an I-pac or any keyboard encoder.  :( They are looking for a simple open or closed circuit.

A potentiometer would need to be hooked to a joystick type device either through the joystick port or through a USB port.

Wire them up to a USB analog joystick hack...  If the pots are arcade pots (around 5k) then hack them to 1UP's T2/Star Wars Yoke hack...  If they are 100k pots, then hack them to some other analog PC joystick.
