Title: Question about mods

Ok, soft modded the Wii, but curious now - we have Sonic & Mario at the Winter Games, and I wanted to set it to pull in the weather from Canada via the forecast channel, but that requires having WiiConnect24 on.

I have Preloader installed. If I have Preloader set to no updates, does the Wii read that first before going to the internet, thus blocking potential updates? In other words, is it "safe" to turn WiiConnect back on with preloader installed, or is thiere still a chance I could mess things up.

As above, wiiconnect really is for downloading messages from nintendo (about new updates or whatever they see fit) and for glowing extraordinarily bright blue in your bedroom at night and waking you up.

For the reason mentioned above I turned mine off, but you'll be fine as regarding updates.

The info is much appreciated - thanks! I really like the weather feature thing on NFL, golf, Mario/Sonic etc...I don't know why, I just do. Think it's a cool effect and I hated to miss it!
