Title: Mega Mame - A (nearly) finished Mame Cab
Post by: scaira on December 22, 2009, 03:00:39 pm
Hi All, a long time lurker, first time poster here!

I have recently finished my Mame cabinet project and as I got so much info here I would try and give a little back.

My cab took a little over 3 years and still isn't really finished. Not because it is complex in any way, its just, well you know how these projects get forgotten about. I am happy how it has turned out and love owning a cab. It is great to get you hands on the proper controls! Its not a beautiful cab by far but it is very close to the design I had stuck in my head. I used Google Sketchup to design it.

Anyways, please have a look! I have created a website full of info, files etc here. http://megamame.creativemule.co.uk (http://megamame.creativemule.co.uk)

I will probably lurk about for a couple of weeks if anyone has any questions. Once again many thanks to anyone that contributes on these boards, I don't think it would have ever got built if it wasn't for the tips and inspiration.

Pretty clean! I like it (though you might start to hate those E-stik joysticks after a while).

Looks great!

What front end are you using?

Those E-Stiks aren't perfect at all but they do the trick. The cab doesn't get tons of play but I suspect they will be the first thing to break!

The front end is Mala.

Just grab some J-stiks off Ultimarc and you'll be much better off. I switched to U360s. My Happ Universals (same thing as E-stik) have been in a box for over a year and a half and I doubt I'll find a use for them.
