Title: Strange OptiPAC Problem--Help!
Post by: personacom on July 22, 2003, 09:50:13 am
I have been lurking around these boards learning so much from you folks.  Thank you for this resource.

Here is my problem.  I have a Happ 3" trackball that I hooked to the USB Optipac per the instructions.  I have the jumper set to A/Lo and USB.

When I plug the Optipac into the PC, it comes up as an Unknown Device and I get a message indicating that a "USB device has malfunctioned and is not recognized by Windows".  In Device Manager I can see that no driver is installed.

I have rechecked my wiring twice, the jumpers appear to be in the right place, and I have the cable plugged into the Player One/USB port.

Incidentally, I plugged my Tornado spinner in (direct to PC via USB) and Windows recognized it as a single axis mouse immediately.

Any suggestions?  I am on Win XP Pro.

Ray

I stumped ya all!   ???  Totally shocked!  :-)  For what it is worth, Andy hasn't been able to help either...yet.

Any suggestions you may have (I have already uninstalled and reconnected) would be great.

Thanks!
