Looks to be a keyboard chipset on a breadboard? PCB. Only has 12 inputs on it. So it probably isn't very usefull, unless you are doing a one player control panel. (joystick4, +buttons6, + coin 1, + start1 = 12 inputs).

and if your gonna do a 1 player Cp, why not just hack a pad
-
I actually bought one of those monsters, because it was cheap--I like cheap! ;D
Yes, basically, it is a ps2 cable with a terminal block on the end. The encoder chip is burried under the terminal block in a chunk of epoxy. And yes it idoes just have 12 inputs (wasn't aware of that when I bought it). >:(
I'm using it in conjunction with a pad hack in a 2 player CP.
It works...but bang for the dollar...look elsewhere! You've been warned!

Looks like it would be PERFECT for a 1 player cab.. Especially a bartop where space really matters.
But for 15 bucks for 12 inputs... You cant go wrong....... unless... you need... well.... 13inputs.... they you went way wrong.....
to bad nobody has come out with something similar for usb.

i happen to be building a 1 player mini cab right now and was gonna hack a sidewinder. I bid on one and ill let everyone know how i like it.

Whoa! Frankenstein is prettier!
Not for everyone but not a bad solution for some. Hmmm, someday I'd like to do a classic vertical cab. This would probably work actually.
