Free utility found on MAMEworld to surpress the windows key in most windows OS's. Works well and is free.

Sweet! I hate it when i accidentally hit my Windows key that I added to my control panel.....

OK I see ;D
But I always thrash a version of mame out fairly well before I move it over to a cabinet. Always have the latest on my main PC but only move the tried and true over to a cabinet.

Beyond MAME, this utility would be handy for pretty much any keyboard intensive game that predates the windows keys. I can think of several times I've been aggrevated by crashing an old game when I mistakenly hit one of the windows keys.
Thanks for the link Bob, I can see this being quite handy. :)

I just pop the key off (outside of mame of course, mame is remappable)

There's also WinKeyKill in the Downloads utililties on the main page.
Basically WinKeyKill keeps the Windows key from working except as an input in recent MAME builds. Logoless allows it to work in Windows but disables it from affecting MAME.
