Hi all! New here, and had somethin on my mind, can a 27 in Makvision flatscreen monitor fit in an original Gauntlet arcade cab?
Have the opportunity to pick one up on the cheap, but think it might be žoo big.
Any thoughts? If not, how big could I go? I also have a source with a 25 inch Hantrex Polo.
Is one better than the other?

Check ArcArc, see if the manual is there. Should state the monitor size within.
-
I know its a WG 19" monitor, but there is quite a bit of room on all sides.
I'm also worried about the bigger monitor using too much power. Is that something I should be careful of?
Yes, I am new to this.

I missed where you said "original" Gauntlet cab. I doubt a 27" will fit in there.
Please tell me you're not converting an original cab...
-
lol! I personally would NEVER do that.
Unfortunately, someone did though. It was converted into a MK2 cab. I bought it like this. (fairly cheap too!) here are a few pics, its the original 19" monitor in there as far as I can tell. In fact, most everything looks original besides Jamma. (and artwork of course

What's wrong with the original monitor?
-
Absolutely nothing! MK2 was originally a 25" monitor, and the characters seem a bit small on this screen.
Rather than try to restore it back to a Gauntlet, I'd like it to be as much like a MK2 as possible.
-
Dedicated MKII definitely had a 25" monitor, but without significant work, I don't see you getting a 25" monitor in that Gauntlet.

What kind of work we talkin bout here?
Also, I have an opportunity to pick up a Hantarex polo 25". But its just the tube and yoke. What would I need to get it workin properly?
-
You'd need a chassis. I'd pass on it.
What work? At best, knock a couple holes in the monitor mounts to accommodate the new monitor. At worst? Having to modify the monitor to fit in that tiny space, and the cab.
That's overly simplified, of course.

Pass on it? Hmmm, its only 15 bucks!
Seems like too good to pass on. Guy said it had worked great, when it was all together.
How much would a chassis run me?
Btw, thanks for the help.
