Hello all,
I have questions about good tools. I changed some of the names of zips from standard good like NHL_Ice_Hockey (U)!.zip to NHL Ice hockey.zip.
I see all snaps are going to the good naming scheme. well how can i get my games to show up in lists without the BS? thanks JIM
PS-i can host snaps if u want.

Well either use the good naming convention or rename them yourself. Unfortunately, I don't think there is an alternative. I don't really like the good names either, but it is the only convention around.
Sorry! :-\

IF you use MameWah, you can take new snaps and the renaming tool that is built in will automatically rename the snap to the game being played... Then again that is if you are willing to take new snaps.
Otherwise i think T.O. is right, their is no other way. I use Windows Commander rather than Explorer. It has a multi-renaming tool. This way you could do batch jobs and just tell WC to replace "_" with " " and you are done! Also i know their are some renaming tools on Tucows. I have one called 1-4a rename and it does really good too.

No No No, what you need to do is find a batch renaming tool. Search for one called RName-It. You can select all your files and do batch renames. For example, you could go through all the files and remove all exclaimation points (!)'s or you could go through and remove any string you want, such as " [US] " or something like that. Its a super powerful program if you do things correctly. Search for it. It will solve your problems.

NO NO NO Jakobud..... he needs to stay with the standard (which btw does NOT include replacing " " with "_" that's a good tools OPTION)
Demon Seed wants to distribute the snaps he makes too so he needs to suck it up and get with the program.
Btw Peter and my fe's have a turnicate labels option, which means that you can remove that junk in the display anyway. Other developers could add it in like a sec.

Ah my bad I misunderstood. I had no idea he was planning on distributing the snaps. I thought it was for his own personal setup that he was complaining about the naming conventions.
In this case then he should definately keep the snaps the same naming convention as the standard GoodTool names.
