Title: Wanted: 2 - 4GB DDR2-800 RAM
Post by: Daviea on November 28, 2009, 01:30:45 pm
Looking for 2GB or 4GB of DDR2-800 RAM for an Intel D975XBX2 motherboard.

This is for my wife's PC.  Her old Pentium 4 finally bit the dust and I'm now piecing together a new system for her.  Normally, I would have piles of spare parts laying around but I recently cleaned house and GAVE it all away on Craigslist.... yeah, nice.  I knew that was going to come back to bite me.  LOL

Anyhow, PM or email me and let me know what you have available.

Thanks

Dave

The Bad Axe 2 board accepts:
PC2-4200 and PC2-5300
So DDR2 533 or DDR2 667  <-- cheaper of course!
I do have 800 running in one of my badaxe2 boards. It's not supposed to accept it heh

Hey,

I was going off of the tested memory list on Intel's website when I made that post.  LOL

http://www.intel.com/support/motherboards/desktop/d975xbx2/sb/CS-026616.htm (http://www.intel.com/support/motherboards/desktop/d975xbx2/sb/CS-026616.htm)

I specifically noted "DDR2 800, DDR2 667, and DDR2 533 MHz SDRAM DIMMs".... once I saw "DDR2 800", I went with that.  Of course, since this is my wife's PC and she's upgrading from a lousy single core P4, pretty much any DDR will be OK for her machine.  She's starting to nag me about her machine as of 8AM this morning, so I need to get on this ASAP.

So, does anyone have some spare DDR2-533/667/800 they can let go of?  I decided that I'm just going to give her the full 4GB on this machine and be done with it.  If I can't find it here or CL, I can get it at Fry's or Microcenter for next to nothing, so it's no biggie.

Thanks everyone.

Dave

Heh - they updated the compatibility chart. I guess that's what I get for not looking at it in over 2 years ;)

I have 2 gigs of RAM like the above Newegg post.  I'd sell this for $25 shipped.  LMK.

I apologize but I sold this ram a while back and I thought I still had it.  Sorry about that!
