Title: Yay I am now a BYOAC member
Post by: painterinfo on November 27, 2009, 06:54:13 am
G'day, obligatory first post is always the hardest.

I have got plenty of tips from here in the past so thanks for that, I made an arcade machine last year and am gearing up to make one this year too, you know bigger and better and all that and I am thinking this site looks like a good place to start a build log.

Aussicab Arcade (http://au.youtube.com/watch?v=Pnal94u1lfw&feature=channel_page#)

A very simple build, There are several things I would do differently next time to make it better. But I think it turned out pretty alright.

Hey, I'd probably have gone with some different graphics, but it looks nice and clean.
Nice job!

If you haven't already, there's several threads about cocktails that are very nice. ONe called something like Behold the gold is especially slick.

Thanks for the pics!

Thanks drventure, yea it is pretty conservative but that is my style I guess. At the time I wanted it to fit in with the house furniture without standing out like a neon light.

That is very nice work for a 1st time project.

Good luck on your next one.  :applaud:

That is how it is after you finish the last project.  I just finished making two wireless 360 fightsticks using HAPP parts and a custom box I made out of MDF.  My wiring is much more efficient and opted to not use network cable as I have for my showcase and bartop builds.  I will be posting it up shortly and unfortunately I didn't really document the whole process.  Anyhow, welcome to the board and look forward to seeing your upcoming new build.

I think I will have to make space before it gets off the drawing board though

Yep, every build is a learning experience and every build has challenges but that just makes subsequent ones that much more enjoyable.

I like the colours...nice and streamlined for a cocktail.  To us the MAME logo is overused but to those who haven't seen an arcade machine since the 80s and haven't followed emulation, it's a nice topic for discussion ;)

I agree, nothing against MAME, but two cabs with a MAME logo is definitely enough dedication. :)
