Title: is the connection on an arcade monitor different? or just the khz?
Post by: milkit on November 21, 2009, 05:09:51 pm
I was about to build a cabinet and use a TV but i just found a Blitz 99 cabinet fully working for only $375. Im thinking I might convert this instead.

To use this monitor, I should be able to just use VGA using a 15khz software correct (or an arcadevga card)? The physical connection is generic vga right?

thanks for a noob question!

I'm not familiar with Blitz 99, but I think most arcade monitors use a different input than VGA.  I think Ultimarc's JPAC can convert your VGA input in something suitable for an arcade monitor.
Maybe try asking in the monitor forum?

You will have to do some cutting and soldering.  You have to splice into the harness that goes to the monitors chassis. You can make a vga break out cable.  http://forum.arcadecontrols.com/index.php?topic=83104.0 (http://forum.arcadecontrols.com/index.php?topic=83104.0)

your blitz cab might have a medium res monitor, you should find out the monitor model then post in the monitor section, either way you will probably need a breakout cable.
