I am an avid arcade enthusiast, and a photographer. We just bought a state of the art photo printer for the photo studio and i have been using it to make marquees and bezels for machines that i have been building for sale and myself (custom marquees with customers names, etc). They really look great, nice vibrant colors, no ink jet lines or issues like that. They are printed on semi-gloss photo paper and look great. I can print up the 30" wide prints by whatever height. Here are some photos of some i printed today. I am charging $10.00 for marquees, and $20.00 for bezels plus shipping. I have compared the ones i make to some i bought from mamemarquees and i actually think the colors and printing on mine are a bit nicer, however they are using a plastic material that definitely lights up better with backlighting. I am not trying to compete with them, i am just offering an inexpensive alternative. The file must be a jpg or psd that you send and it must be sized the way you want it.

Hello can you make control panel overlays? mamemarquee is really expensive
-
How about side art? Do you have the adhesive stuff?
-
Peale, I spoke with you about this at the warehouse run in Springfield. I only do photo paper, we got the best photo printer on the market. It is awesome, however no sticky or translucent. I only offer this is a service to you guys on this site if you want it. They come out nice, i can print up to 30" wide.
-
How do your inks hold up to moisture and UV? Are they coated in any way?

Oh yeah...sorry, scatterbrained memory. If I can get some can it be used in your machine?

Excellent question.

This is a photo processor, so they are printed on photographic stock. I cannot put anything other than that into it. I usually apply a matte protective coating over them, which is supposed to keep them from fading, also repels moisture.
-
How thick is the coating? Just trying to gauge "grab points" here. Kids love to work at side art if they can get a nail under it easily.
-
it does transmit light, however not as well as something printed on the right stock. The colors are a bit muted
-
I think that image will print just fine, however the fact that it is all white will look blah backlit with my material. You really need to have that printed on a translight material
-
Redfive, are you still offering this??? I have a marquee and bezel I'd like to get done. PM me when you get a chance!
-
I am glad you both liked your print jobs, thanks for the business! :D

Yeah man- they look great! Thanks again!

I ordered two marquees and they came out great! Actually they're more like poster because of how huge I wanted them printed but they really do look nice. He shipped them in this ultra hard tube and they arrived really fast. There was a mistake on one (the same one was printed 2x) but he printed the right one and sent it to me at no charge (he would not accept my offer to help with the shipping). Great guy, very honest and dependable and great quality prints.
It's like really nice photo paper... so if you are planning on putting plexiglass over your cp it'll look great, I can see it working great as a marquee and screen bezel.

You say that a mostly white marquee won't look right backlit? Bah, that stinks. I'm going to be looking around for somebody to do one up for me soon, as I haven't had any luck finding one of the white background Galaga marquees yet.

I am still printing these, just email me the file and the size you want and i will get them right out.
-
orders shipped today!
-
Do they look ok backlighted? Dude I need your help resizing and printing a marquee. Can you do it?
-
Yea, I'd like to see one backlit too. Can one of you guys that's bought from him post up a pic. Does the image become washed out when backlit? I don't have a marquee yet, but my light is installed. I held up a regular old photo to it, and the picture looked really washed out.
-
PM sent, really want to know if cocktail overlays are possible?
-
Just wanted to give a :applaud: :applaud: for some fine looking bezel(s) I had made. Will definitely use his services again in the future!!

For those of you asking about printing, i can usually take your file and make it look pretty good. I can size it and print it exactly as you specify. the colors and quality will be top notch, i am printing these on a 150K photo printer. However, they do not look good backlit, they are not trans light material. If you want a backlit marquee, get them done elsewhere. Otherwise, i think my stuff works out really well and i am selling it very reasonable, everyone has been happy so far!!
-
Great quality as usual- thanks again! :applaud:
-
Still offering this print service if anyone needs it.
-
Ha I just PMed you...saw original post was from 2009 so I thought this thread was dead with only one page. HA! I will send you another PM

Cool! PM sent.

I need a williams Firepower back glass. I would take a print and sandwich it between thin lexan. Have you ever done this before? WHat would be the best material?
I'll get the image and dimensions later today.
-
Did you get my PM?
