Title: [SOLD] Free working Street Fighter 2 Cab [Australia-NSW-Sydney-Auburn]
Post by: nikekalami on November 16, 2009, 09:03:17 pm
EDIT:  Thanks to everyone that looked, I've got a taker.  If that plan falls through I'll relist this.

Cheers
Vickey

Hiya,

I am sad that newbies can't post in the B/S/T section because I only joined the forum to find a home for a working arcade cabinet I won't have space for anymore.  I don't know anything about the internal mysteries of arcade games.  I could waste everyone's time and post a heap of pointless comments to get my post count up but I doubt anyone wants to see that.

Can some kind soul please cross post this information on the B/S/T forum for me?

Subject:  Free Working Street Fighter 2 Cabinet [Australia-NSW-Sydney-Auburn]

This is free if you will come pick it up.  I work from home so it is easy to arrange a meeting time.  I am moving 11 December so it needs to go before then.  I would rather give it to someone that can use it than dump it on the kerb.

This cabinet is an official Konami Street Fighter 2 cabinet.  The cabinet is red and black.  It works--audio, video, buttons, coin slot, everything.

I am happy to answer questions but please bear in mind I don't know anything about the technical workings of this apparatus.  You will have to tell me how to find the information you need.

3 pieces of the cabinet have popped off in a move but I have them and they could easily be re-attached if you have the patience to bend staples and align them with their former holes (or if you have your own means of stapling which I imagine you crafty people do).  The parts that have fallen off are the panel that covers the back of the video screen, and the end bits for the section where the buttons and joystick go.

If you have questions or would like to come get this baby please email me at vickeyfoggin@gmail.com

Thanks very much!

Vickey

You only need a few posts to be able to post there. Just run around to different threads and reply, "That's awesome! Nice job!" and you'll be in B/S/T in no time. :lol

Yeah no kidding.
Basically, BYOAC isn't craig's list, it is a hobby site, and the reason why you need some posts to go into a thread like B/S/T is to establish that you are not a spammer and are a member of the arcade community in general (Be it for hobby, nostalgia, etc). Also, long time members (such as Ginsu) have a much less likely chance of ripping people off, as they are a member of the "family", so familiarity may be known to breed contempt, it also breeds a better environment for selling or trading.

It's an anti-spam thing as mentioned. However, I set your post count to 6 and moved it to BST :)

You've actually been here longer than me. Don't let the post count fool you.
