Okay Tempest freaks, it
-
Oscar Controls does it again! And at a fair price to boot!
Aren't you glad I kept badgering you? (About the knobs anyway...) ;D Time to replace my wobbly Fultra knob!!

I totally love the product!!!!! I was going to get me a pro spinner, but I just changed my mind ;D Great job OSCAR!!!!
-
Woo.. price drop on Pros? Methinks I should take the opportunity to get a spinner for my Free Kick PCB :o.. not like it has to have push pull or be a repro for that (and maybe an Arkanoid or 2 later)..
When will the price break happen? :D
-
Heh, I wish it was starting last week as that's when I ordered my Pro spinner. ;)
I'm leaning towards building seperate cabinets for horizontal and vertical games so there's a good chance I'll be adding a Vortex spinner to my parts collection in the near future.

I'm also curious to see the kits.. an up/down kit perhaps?? :o
Maybe not :P.. probably meant knobs and mounting choice..
</dreaming>

Whay is this better than the Oscar Pro?
-
Not that it is better, it is pretty much the same thing as the pro.
-
Thanks for the comments!
The price on the Pro's will be decreased when the Vortex is released, and I am targeting this to happen this coming week.
The primary reason the Pro will be phased out is because I don't feel it is necessary to offer two different spinners that are that close to each other. The Vortex is a more flexible design that will allow me to offer some add-on kits for it since I have provided a means to do so in the basic design while maintaining interchangeability of the components with the original Tempest spinner.

Kelsey,
You're teasing us -- "add-on kits"? You've got me all curious. :D
Any more hints, or do I use my imagination? ;)

Kelsey, my cab will never be done! Curses! :) The arcade restrorers out there must be loving you. Too bad I'm trying to save my pennies for a 25" monitor, or I'd be getting a Tron up/down with DOT knob to go with my new repro sticks! ARGHH, my wife is going to kill me, cuz I'm sure that I'll soon give in to temptation and buy one anyway! You don't take trade-ins do you? ;)

Cool product! Thanks Kelsey! Personally, I'm not a big fan of the "making it identical to the original, just so it can be just like the original", but when the functionality isn't compromised, why not. And as 1Up said, the arcade restorers must be loving it.
Congrats and thanks!!!

Flexibility?
Angle Mounting? Wood\Metal?
Whats teh big secret?
-
Kelsey,
Any info on the "feel" of the spinner, compared to that of the pro?
Is the spin time any greater than your previous spinners?
And, what about those "add-ons"?
Thanks,
JD

Well now that we've got auto-fire... MOTORIZED AUTO-SPIN!!!! Woohoo! You never have to use the controls yourself again!
-
The motorized spinner add on was inspired by the Tornado and it's longer then natural spin... So Oscar is one upping them to his will now spin for the duration of the 9volt battery.
Other addons to follow right behind
FORCED FEEDBACK! (same 9volt... small shock... Not recommended for those with pacemakers)
Realisitic Mode! Yes, its near arcade perfect. Its actually just sandpaper around the outside to give the feeling of a true arcade full of pop and cig-ashes...

Looks awesome, Kelsey. You are the spinner GOD!
