Title: Export/Convert MaLa games lists in other formats. Possible?

Hi all.
I have some "mlg" files made with mala gamelist editor.
Is there a way to convert these files in other formats (like xml)?

I don't think there is a program to convert a list from one format to another (at least I have not seen one) but you could recreate it with  ROMLister  (http://www.waste.org/~winkles/ROMLister/).  ROMLister was output to XML or csv or mlg or etc...

I've tried that program, but I can't do the process in "reverse order" (mlg to xml).
I've MANUALLY did mlg files for many emulators, so I hope is there a way to convert them.

There's no good way to do it (yet) in romlister, but that's on my todo list.

However, *if* you have your ROMs folder filled with only the zip files that match your list, you can use romlister's rom scan utility to re-create it and output it in other formats:

1) create a merged xml file
2) hit the "rom scan" button and point romlister to your ROMs folder.
3) RL will then trim down that merged xml file to just the ROMs that it finds
4) Click the "list all roms" button and then throw all of those roms into a new list, output it in any format you want.

a PITA, yes.  
the more you bug me about this feature, the more peer pressure I have to do it, so pile it on. :)

edit: should note that this is only going to work for MAME roms...

not quite sure what you mean or how that's possible.
perhaps shoot me an email (addy is on the romlister homepage at the bottom) and we will get you through this.

I'd tell you to wait til I get the import/converter functional, but I don't want to make you wait the couple weeks it may take me to get that rolling...  it's a big job and I'm afraid of how long it may take. (which is why I haven't done it yet!)
