Pffff, those damages totally ruin the HUO status IMHO.

It's not much nicer than mine to be honest....
Saves you a LOAD of restore work though....plug and play !

At least I'll know how much it's worth when I'm ready with it :D

Laws only work if people follow them.

Well, people in your position should still be bound by rules such as not accessing such information unless it's required in the course of doing your job. Not just because "you can" and "you felt like it".

If you are implying Ive done anything illegal, morally or ethically wrong , I'd appreciate an apology.

Unless you had reason to look up that user's account information during the course of your regular work duties, and you have implied you did not, what you did was unethical at best and likely against corporate rules.  Probably not against the law but still a smeggy thing to do.

That is Darin Jacobs of Phoenixarcade.  Most of you probably already knew that.

He hauled that out of Muncie IN, I believe, later in the summer.  I wonder why its up for sale just before Christmas ;)

And one wonders why so many people detest Comcast.  :badmood:

As for the cab, I'm a Garfield fan (though not as major as I was ten years ago) and if this cab came across my screen back then, I wouldn't have thought twice about it. All the seller needs to do is find a Star Wars and Garfield fan and it's going to be sold.

I've never understood the fascination with famous owners.  What are they hoping to do?  Scrape some creative DNA off of it?  It has no Garfield relation whatsoever.  I could see if it were original drawings, or a custom Garfield themed Star Wars, but why something random?

people who hate Comcast most have the lemming flock mentality; "you hate Comcast?, me too!". Theres plenty of real reasons to hate them, especially how they treat their employees. Like I was saying it was a bad joke and I edited my posts to remove it. I'm not going to defend something I didn't do but I did actually admit it wasn't funny.

Also, I didn't do anything wrong but I have yet to see Chad say sorry (for anything ever)

back on topic, if I had the cheddar and room, I'd buy it other then those little flaws its minty fresh

I have no trouble apologizing when I've been a dick.  I have not been a dick in this thread.

Three people commented on it, you know, it wasn't just me.  I don't believe we were wrong.

I agree with Chad. I actually started it. You are in a position to reach confident information. You shouldn't abuse that IMHO.

Even IF you were only kidding, you should think about the impact something like this has for customers.

I removed the joke quote in my response. I had to think about it first because I didn't really see the need, but it might actually harm you as an employee so that's why I removed it.

It has appeal or value to someone who collects Garfield and Star Wars memorabilia. To put it in perspective, there are people out there who would be willing to cut off their left nut to own Elvis Presley's fabled motorcycle. But for anyone else, like me for instance, I'd be all too happy to sell it. Elvis just doesn't "do" it for me.

Or to put it in a differen perspective, years ago there as a shipping box filled with boxes of MTG Arabian Nights (http://www.wizards.com/magic/magazine/Article.aspx?x=mtgcom/daily/rb102). Stamped and signed off by Richard Garfield, the shipping box sold for $95,000. At the time, the individual packs were only valued at $1o0 each putting the average value of the boxed cards to be around $60k. Read an excerpt of the story below:
Quote
.... at Gen Con Saturday night an entire case of Arabian Nights slated to be auctioned off. Booster display boxes of Arabian Nights contain 60 booster packs each and when Wizards shipped the product to distributors and stores back in the day they shipped it in “cases” of 10 booster displays. I wasn’t playing Magic back then, so I had never seen even a full booster display of this product before, much less an entire case of it. When I walked over to the case I was blown away by the history I was looking at. Locked behind glass I saw a normal-looking cardboard box with stenciling on it that said “Wizards of the Coast” and “Arabian Nights.” The box still had the original shipping label on it that had been attached to it inside Peter’s garage, along with the original packing tape. The top of the box was open, revealing ten booster displays, each of which was still inside the original shrinkwrap. Wow.

As the time for the auction approached, I watched several dealers scurrying around, trying to figure out how much this item was going to go for. A couple of them got together, figuring it was dumb for them to bid each other up, so they decided to just cooperate to keep the price down and then split it up later. There were 600 booster packs in there, which they knew they’d be able to sell at their stores or websites for at least $110 each, so they figured they could go as high at $60,000 (though they obviously hoped they could get it for less).

The dealers didn’t come close.

Everyone in the room watched in amazement as the bids just kept going higher. $65,000 . . . 70 . . . 75 . . . 80. The auctioneer paused to let everyone gasp and clap. 85 . . . (still two bidders) . . . 90 (still two bidders). “Ninety-five thousand dollars!” . . . Finally one of the two big bidders gave in and that’s what the case went for: $95,000.

The dealers I was hanging out with were incredulous – that price equates to $158.33 per booster pack and they thought the product clearly just wasn’t worth that much. However, I think that analysis misses the point. The two bidders who were going at it at the end were collectors who were trying to purchase a piece of Magic history. This wasn’t just 600 Arabian Nights booster packs, this was an original shipping container. This had stenciling from Peter Adkison’s garage and tape that was applied by one of Wizards of the Coast’s first employees. This was the piece de resistance for an entire Magic collection – a unique way to display the game’s very first expansion. The cards themselves may have only been worth $60,000, but that cardboard case and all the history it represents was apparently worth another thirty-five.

I know it's not a cab, but any true gamer should appreciate the point.

I don't see the analogy to the Magic cards.  That example talks about buying the content developed by the people who owned that particular item.  If this were a Garfield cab, maybe, but it has nothing to do with Garfield other than that Jim Davis might have left a butt groove in the seat.

Now, the motorcycle and Elvis... better example but Jim Davis and Elvis are a little apart on the psycho fan meter.   ;D

Yeah, Garfield fans are pretty lazy.  ;D

Seriously though, There are some pretty fanatical fans of just about anything. I know a gal who would probably love to have this cab. She loves Star Wars (went all over the city taking pictures of the R2D2 mail boxes) and is fanatical enough about Garfield.

They exist, you just have to find them and make sure their wallets are thick enough.

And hey, you can't fault this guy for trying, right?
