Title: My ELO Touchcreen Died!
Post by: Fordman on November 09, 2009, 07:00:08 pm
Hello All,

Anyone have any issues with their ELO touchscreens? The LCD screen works but the touchscreen seems to have quit functioning. I have looked at all the wires and they seem to be intact. No electric spikes or surges as the jukebox is on a surge protector. Halloween night it worked fine. I usually just let it go and I checked it 2 days ago, touched the screen and NADDA! Nothing!

I uninstalled and re-installed the drivers a dozen times. When I plug the USB cable in, the jukebox recognizes the ELO, so the controller board seems to be working. The ELO control panel shows that the ELO is connected and the controller is working properly.

I'm at wits end.  ???  ???  ???

I did attach another ELO that was sitting in a box up to it and the second one worked just fine. I attached the one in question to another computer and same results, no responce from the touchscreen but the lcd display below works fine and the ELO control panel also says the ELO is connected and the controller is working properly.

Do the touchscreens go bad? ELO's website says the Intelletouch screen are virtuously indestructable.

Anyone else have or have seen this issue?

If the controller is being recognized then I would check the wiring of the transducers on the screen itself.   The thin wires can sometimes break and are held in place by silicone so it is hard to see if there is a problem.
