Title: Toshiba Fold Over Probs...
Post by: IG-88 on November 09, 2009, 05:18:10 pm
My father in law gave me his old (2002) 27" TV that has an issue. The top 1-2 inches of the screen is folded over on itself. I looked up some info and it seems that I may have to replace a couple of IC's or something associated with them. Is this a tough fix? Or for that matter tough to diagnose?

The picture itself looks great other than that. It also has component and s-vid inputs so I thought it might be worth playing around with/saving. At least it would provide a learning experience. I guess you could say I'm pretty much a noob when it comes to this type of repair. Perhaps it would be better if I started with something easier?

Would a cap kit fix this? Or maybe a new chassis?

Any thoughts would be appreciated.

something in the vert deflection circuit is faulty, could be a cap/diode/resistor or even the vert deflection ic
