Title: MAME 134 loading ROMs slowly

So, I finally decided to upgrade to MAME 134.  I had been using 122.  In 122, ROMs would load near instantly, but with 134, I see the loading screen for awhile- even with something like centipede.  Has something changed in the way MAME loads or do I need to check my settings?
