Title: Wii sensor bar and Mame
Post by: Queeg on November 03, 2009, 11:18:30 pm
Hello all,

I am running my wiimotes as lightguns in my cabinet. I have my sensor bar prepped for 12v DC off of my PCs power supply. I was wondering if anyone has run a wii sensor bar off of 12 volts?

I fear the worst because once it is installed in my cab it would be a pain to replace, and I hear IR leds burn out very vast when they are run overpowered.

Any input would be greatly appreciated.

You can reduce the voltage to it with a resistor.

Why not do away with the sensor bar and just mount 2 IR LEDs somewhere on the cab? Thats all a sensor bar is after all.
The Wiimotes are essentially an IR camera. I've heard of people using candles instead of the sensor bar  ::)
