Title: Mounting Klipsch Promedia 2.1 speakers in cab... how ?
Post by: Nataq on November 03, 2009, 05:35:20 pm
I have made two circular holes to place circular speakers grills over where I will place the 2 speakers. I now need to install my 2 promedia 2.1 speakers in place. Thing is they seems to take a lot of place on the shelf and I am worrying they will block most of the light to lit up the marquee. Since this is a popular setup, how did you guys do it ? Top of my cab is based on the Lucid design...

Is it possible to remove the speakers from their cases ? If so is the sound affected in a bad way ? Did you place aluminum foil on speakers to distribute light more efficiently ? I need advice.

Thank you !

PS. Maybe this topic should have been in the audio forum but I thought this is more about mounting something correctly in the cab and light distribution than real audio... Feel free to move the thread if im wrong.

Klipsch :)

I'd love to see a mounting method for speakers this large that doesn't block light from the marquee. I used similiarly large speakers and resorted to adding additional LEDs on the front side (ie, towards the marquee) of them to suppliment the main light.

Here's how I did it for the Project Arcade cabinet (Lusid design). The marquee lights up quite nicely with no shadows or other distortion from the speakers.
