Title: Why is Rock Band 2's Tour mode crappier than Rock Band 1's?
Post by: crashwg on November 02, 2009, 04:40:18 pm
I'm coming to Rock Band 2 pretty late in the game I know but now that I'm here I'm disappointed in the layout of the game.

As I play through the first game (I've got one song left in Hard and about 10-15 completed in Expert) it seems easier to keep track of what songs you've completed and on what difficulty.  Let me rephrase that.  It is possible to keep track.  It doesn't seem to be in RB2...  :-\

Am I missing something?

They got rid of RB1's solo mode in RB2. And they got rid of GHWT's solo mode in GH5. Because of the different band configurations, all you play for now is stars. I don't think scores in GH5 are even saved.

When Rock Band 1 released the biggest complaint was not being able to play tour mode solo.

Harmonix unfortunately took that as "We don't want a normal tiered mode at all anymore", and pulled it leaving the only modes of solo play quick or tour.
