Title: New Acquisition: Hyper Sports!!
Post by: IG-88 on October 31, 2009, 06:38:31 pm
Just got me another new project!!!  :applaud: Now I need some color codes. Anybody have one or know of what the yellow/orange color is on this puppy?

Strongly recommend that if you don't have a manual for your cab, google one print it out, and hang it from your back door. The manual on my track and field cab was stuffed up above the monitor.

I've attached your manual, just in case you need one.

Your answer is on page 7. Looks to be alternate Run(go) buttons for P1 and P2.

I'm not quite sure what your talking about.   :dunno  There are no paint codes that I saw.... And I do have the manual by the way, but thanks.

No worries mate! I should have said paint codes.

Anyway, what I think I'm gonna do is just take the new CPO into Lowes and match that.

Saint if you see this you may as well move it over to the restore thread, guess thats what this is turning into  ;D

Got a few things done on this today. Yanked the old t-mold and noticed that there was a bit of swelling. The wood is pretty weak in a few spots. Going to try some glue and clamps to see if I can strengthen it up otherwise I'll just cut out and replace it.

Whoever repainted this did a piss poor job. Inside the bezel area is all peeling and flaking. I'm not sure how to remove this stuff. I scaped off all the loose stuff and rand a palm sander over it a little. I may try paint remover to see if that will make a better base coat for the yellow I plan to put back on it.

Also filled in a rather large gouge in the top near the vent. Not quite sure how the heck that got there, but an easy fix.

I realize mine is actually a Track & Field cab but this is what I'd like it too look like when I'm done.

May even add a PC with mame and T&F and 88' games also. If I can get it to switch back and forth easily. Might be easier to use real PCB's tho..

I thought Hyper Sports was just a modified Track and Field anyways?
Same cab' different artwork.
Same game, different events :P

From what I've heard, some were dedicated. I know my coin door is different than the one pictured. It's not an "over and under".
