Title: Sanyo Pro-X PLC-SW30
Post by: ark_ader on October 31, 2009, 05:45:25 pm
Hi my projector is misbehaving.  The lamp replace light is not on, and last time it was on it was working fine but I ran it watching Benjamin Buttons so I do not know if it overheated.

How can I tell if it is the lamp or some internal thermal fuse?

When I switch it on the fans come on the power light turns green then it shuts down and reports a red light on warning.

I checked the lamp and it looks fine as I had only a few hours on it so far.

I use it for arcade games and the odd movie which I now miss.

Is the repair going to be expensive?

projectors have a lamp life timer,if that was not reset to 100% when the lampo was last changed then it could throw up the red light and the bulb look fine
you should be able to meter the bulb

Yes that would solve the problem, unfortunately the projector switches off before I can get to the menu.  I have pressed the reset switch, so there must be something more sinister going on.  Its Christmas time, why not?  ;D

all the projectors i have worked on had a proceedure when you change the lamp-eg hold down 3 buttons and power on
if you can find an instruction for replacing bulb perhaps there is a special sequence to follow
