Title: New theme...comments?
Post by: ffingers on October 30, 2009, 01:43:22 am: so i have scrapped a few versions and this is where i am at...

still need to make a main menu and also might be tweaking fonts a bit and adding a game list title....also will add my cab logo to the upper right...

what do people think? honest opinions??? :P

Post by: ffingers on October 30, 2009, 10:30:32 am: yeah, i started with that text on the top, then used the 8-bit at the bottom and liked that more....i don't want to use the same font, so i grabbed a bunch of pixelated fonts last night but haven't started going through them yet....

but i agree, it doesn't quite "agree"......but that's easy enough to change...

i am still tweaking things and will be making a "menu" screen to scroll through MAME, Daphne, jukebox, and maybe a general "emulators"....so one i get all that done, i will be releasing it....i have to figure out the final fonts as well...

but if people like it, i will definitely make it available... :D

I agree about the Arcade font at the top. I would prefer to see fat letters and also something that would cover the blank space in the top/right corner. Maybe even if you centered 'Arcade'.

I might suggest flipping the faux 'control panel' so that the curve is on the bottom as if you were standing at a physical CP. If you don't like the sharpness of the top at that point, perhaps make the CP part rounded on both the top and bottom, as is seen in many CP button outlines.

Personally I don't particularly like the font/text on the bottom, only because it reminds me too much of NES. Great wording, though. Simple, but effective.
