Congratulations again to dstone for winning both sides of the token design contest for the '10 tokens. :applaud: :applaud:
So here's what happens next. Preorders are open at the ArcadeReplay site. (http://www.arcadereplay.com/index.php?cPath=27_35)
On the order pages containing Nickel I will ask a question something like "If we don't order nickel would you take brass instead?" Your choices will be a)yes or b)no, refund my money. Because I spend a lot of money up front on the tokens, I charge the full price up front for pre-orders. There is too much at risk for me to accept less. I realize this isn't ideal, but it's how I do it. :dunno
Once orders have been open for a few weeks I make a decision if there are enough orders to proceed with either 1) 10,000 Brass or 2) 10,000 brass and 10,000 nickel, or 3) None of the above. If I am able to at least break even on the original order, I will place the order.
If we only have enough demand to order 10,000 brass, the people who indicated they would not accept brass instead of nickel will get paypal refunds.
If don't have enough demand for even 10,000 brass, I will contact the people who preordered to see if they are interested in higher 5000 lot pricing. If there are enough yes responses we will do that. Else - no tokens and everyone gets a refund. :(

How much are the tokens and what would postage be to the UK for say, 100 tokens? I am looking to order this time though not sure how many. Maybe all UK orders could be sent together to 1 person to save postage/customs then redistributed as necessary at cheaper UK rates?

I ship using USPS Flat Rate boxes. They are relatively inexpensive, but it varies by country. I think the website should be up tonight so you can do a dry run to see what the shipping will be.
The tokens will $43.99 for 200, and I offer minimum lots of 200 until the next year's tokens come out. I realize this is expensive for some, but this is driven by the costs from the mint. I have actually lowered my price by 3$ from last time despite price increases from the mint.

Considering the trouble you go to, and after just placing my pre-order, I think it's fantastic value when you consider I remember many games costing 20p a game through the mid-80's.
For other UK buyers who are interested, the 200 token minimum order including international postage comes to just over £35, so works out at about 18p per token. As the package value is under £35 (it's actually about £26 at the current exchange rate) and under a certain size/weight, (as is my understanding from years of overseas buying) it is unlikely to be randomly selected for a VAT check but remember to factor in a possible 15% VAT charge and Royal Mail handling fee. This would make the total around £45 by the time you get it, or around 23p per token.

I just ordered as well.
Only issue I had at the storefront was it wouldnt let me change my address, so I had to make a new account.
If I clicked the edit address button, I got this error.

The Wife said a no go on a full order, but if there is anyone out there willing to help with a partial order with me. I'm thinking like 50 or less over all, let me know. That's actually a pretty good estimate, we got 5 since the last update, only need 5 more. This is the closest it's ever been. If we get a few more I will just place the order. I don't have to exactly break even, I can take a little risk, I just don't want to be out hundreds of dollars.

It's all good whatever the finish. If these turn out nice I'm probably going to ordera mix of all years and designs for my collection.
Santoro, how would you feel about us offering these as an option with our cabinets? Lots of customers opt for a coin mech so these would be a nice touch for their personalised machines.

Most of us use them in our videogames and pinball machines as a way to recreate the arcade experience a little more accurately.

And can a get a sample from an old batch to adjust my mechs while waiting. Just one in an envelope would do. I could goto my local arcade and pick up a few but I do not know if they would be the same. Besides, the only have ticket despensing games now so I'd hate to even give the a dollar :(

Sweet. I put my order in and I don't even have an arcade yet. I'm in the process of building one. I am finalizing and polishing the design and begin building this weekend :burgerking:. It's a 4 player showcase and every step of the way will be thoroughly documented, pictured, and videoed for all to see. Friday can't come any sooner.

Ah yes, arcade cabinet. As I read my post over again I realize the error in my terminology. Though I do plan on turning a second computer into an All-In-One-Console and hook it up to my living room TV with adaptors for 2600, NES, SNES, Genesis, and N64 controllers. The software is already in place but funding is lacking for adaptors as it's all going into my MAME 'arcade cabinet', Arcade Project Alpha (that's what I am calling it).

Update.
The tokens are scheduled to be shipped on Feb 4 and will probably get here on the tenth or so. I have enough token wrappers left to ship the 1st half of the orders right away (first-in-first-out.) I had ordered more token wrappers from Happ months ago but they were backordered. I checked with Happ Friday and they are supposed to be here around the 20th. Essentially this means there will probably be 2 waves of orders, one starting the second week in February and one toward the end of the month.
I momentarily considered shipping in taped-up baggies like we used to do in order to speed this along but I'd prefer not to do that. Back in those days we had a much higher incidence of packages going missing. I suspect they were swiped by postal workers because the jingly packages sounded like money.
I will post close-up pics as soon as they arrive.

Just a note for the token 'newbies'.... the close -up pics never look as amazing as the tokens in real life. Most of the scratches and imperfections in the pic are invisible to the naked eye. Looking at the pictures above without clicking to make them full size is a much better representation of what they look like.

1) Are these tokens "compatible" with the coin comparison device they have fir sale at ultimarc?
2) If above is yes, are there any "in stock" if I were to place an order?
3) Again, if above is yes, do you know (aproximately) how long it would take for the order to arrive to Houston, TX ?

1) I honestly don't know, I'd ask AndyWarne. These are standard .984" Brass tokens.
2) The tokens are in stock - click the graphic in my sig.
3) I usually ship with 2-3 days, and USPS priority mail takes 4-6 days.

My notification came about a week ago and I'm in the UK, so I expect mine are now with customs or Royal Mail, as with all my stuff from the U.S. Just a point for any other UK orders out there.

OK, latest status...
I expect to finish all the counting, packing, and shipping prep this weekend, with rest of the tokens being dropped at the Post Office on Monday.
I need to offer an apology to those people outside of North America who received shipping emails, I printed labels but since they require special treatment at the Post Office, and due to personal time constraints I prefer to ship my international orders all at one time. I know I mentioned processing first-in-first-out, that wasn't exactly the case due to my personal time constraints. I didn't anticipate being so busy when I first said it.

They all shipped a little over a week ago. I usually start to worry at 2-3 weeks, customs agencies sometimes take their sweet time.

They look like gold coins indeed. Being a big fan of Galaga these coins are perfect for me 8)
Only nitpick I would have is that the font used for the texts is a bit difficult to read.

I tried fixing the shipping module on my site and borked it up pretty good a few days ago. I have been having trouble making time to fix it, but I should be able to try to do a restore to a not-as-broken state tonight. Thanks for your patience.

Thanks Santoro, I finally see an actual page instead of the usual error.
Unfortunately, I got a message saying "An error occurred with the USPS shipping calculations. If you prefer to use USPS as your shipping method, please contact the store owner."
I'll try using another browser as soon as I get home tonight.

I don't think it's your browser. I will need to take a look again. I switched to a new shipping module because the old version was overcharging for international shippers and my testing wasn't robust as I was in a hurry. I'll look again.
In the meantime if you want to PM me with what you want we can do an email order with manual paypal.
