For anyone in the South-Eastern USA looking to get a Japanese Candy-style arcade machine. Georgia, South Carolina, Florida...etc.
I've recently contacted coin-opexpress.com about a bulk cargo container order of Sega Astro City cabinets.
There would be 18 reconditioned cabinets in the container.
Cost per cabinet is $450 USD (not including shipping).
Total shipping for the entire container would be $2800 USD. So that'd be about $160 per unit.
So the total cost per cabinet (with shipping) would be about $610 USD. So $610 USD for a reconditioned Sega Astro City. Not too shabby considering how hard they are to come by on the East Coast.
The problem is I would also need to setup some kind of temporary storage for the units until everyone can come pick them up. I'll look into that cost a little later...unless someone in the area would be willing to lend some space for storage. I think there is a member of this forum thats in Atlanta that may have some space. I will contact him and ask.
Since its getting closer to X-mas this probably won't happen until after New Years. But I figured it'd be good to get interest up now to see what can get worked out. Theres also a few more shipping details I need to find out. Like if that cost is to the dock on the coast...or to our storage location.
If you've got any questions, please feel free to post them here, or PM me.
And incase you're not sure what a Sega Astro City looks like....here is a link with some pics and info on the cabinet.

Do they include a monitor or are they empty? I'm on the West coast, so I can't join in, but I'm curious how they generally come.

Monitor and all the cables I would imagine. But I will ask them to make absolutely sure.

Bah...this kinda puts a damper on my hopes. The cost of shipping would be just to the port. I'd need to pick them up there and move them wherever.
So that eliminates me from heading up this little adventure. Would anyone else be willing to take up the reigns? I don't think I know enough about international shipping and what not to head this up. But this could open up the option for other peeps throughout the site in the U.S. to get in on the order too.
