Hi.
I'm very new to making arcade controls and I've recently purchased a SpinTrak spinner for playing games like Arkanoid and Tempest.
Before I make my control panel, I wanted to test the spinner out and I realised I have absolutely no idea how to fit it to a piece of wood.
The spinner has a removable top and flyweight, but the wood needs to sit inbetween the plastic bold and the metal top. I don't think I can unscrew the plastic bolt without damaging the wires.
I've searched the forum already, but all the pictures I've found are either before or after mounting. I don't want to attempt to guess in case I damage the spinner.
Can anyone tell me how they installed their SpinTrak and what steps I need to take.
Thanks for your help.

You can remove the plastic nut without damaging the wires. I have two of them mounted to my control panel and the nuts came off just fine.
You'll have to unscrew the nut from the thread and slide it all the way to the bottom, but don't yank it off. Gently pull the nut off the side OPPOSITE the wires and you're done. On one of mine, the black cover at the bottom came off exposing the little PCB and wire joints, but it popped back on easily and didn't do any damage coming off. If the nut is too tight to be pulled off, try prying that cover off for more clearance.
