Hey all,
Just got my new WG d9800. Beautiful monitor. Played a bit with it. Got lots to learn.
Just wanted to let you all know how good my purchasing experience was. I live in Canada and I didn't know if I should chance a direct purchase from WG. I wanted to save some money since the Canadian dollar is so strong as of late. Turns out it was the right decision to make. I got away scott free. No duty, taxes and no brokerage fees. They used Fedex. We had a little issue on shipping right out of the gate but Lauren at WG was right on top of it. I felt well taken care of and I can't thank them enough for the great service I received.
So kudos to WG.
Cheers
Steph

They are pretty good to work with. Quick to fix problems and their tech support is helpful. Wish they weren't phasing out their CRTs.

I don't want to ruin your fun, but the final bill haven't arrived yet. Got my D9800 shipped to Montreal, Quebec. They just dropped the box after a little signature. The shipping you already paid don't cover the "surprise" bill. Mine took a month to arrive;
Duties: 22.49
Disbursements: 0.65
Brokerage: 35.30
Federal Taxes (GST): 19.86
Taxes on services 1.80
Provincial Taxes (QST): 2.83
Overall bill: 82.93 CAD :badmood:
But overall, I'm really happy with the product. You won't regret it. ::)

Well if the final bill is that amount I'll be ok with it. It will still have been cheaper than buying it in Canada.

Yeah, that ain't that much.

I live in the Vancouver, BC area and thankfully near Point Roberts which has an excellent Postal outlet called the Letter Carrier. Can ship to it and then drive across during a lunch break at work etc and bring stuff back.
I got my monitor (WG D9800 as well) through X-Gaming this way and after about 6 months now still love the monitor.
You shouldn't be paying any duty on a monitor as it falls under computer peripherals which through NAFTA are duty free. I only pay taxes doing it this way as Im my own broker driving it across :)

Yup. 80$ is not that much, but when you wait for a 30-40$ one, an extra of 50$ is never a good surprise. Still, the overall cost was nothing if you compare with local distributor. ::)
