Hi. I have a 28" tv that I want to put in my cab. How should I mount it? My cab is NOT mdf. It's plywood. 3/8" I believe. The tv is old and extremely heavy. What should I do to mount it? Craigslist had no LCD tvs of the same size, so I guess I'm stuck with the monster I have. Should I try a shelf inside the cabinet or a whole new structure all together to hold the tv?

I had the same problem. I used 3/4 inch plywood myself and the only downfall of plywood is the weight of it! The tv i used was an old 26" sony that weighted a tonne also. I mounted a shelf with supporting pieces of 2 by 2 underneath it and a crossbeam to stop the shelf warping under the weight of the tv. I removed the back casing from the tv as it extended past the back of the cabinet. I also used two pieces of 2 by 2 to hold the tv in position as with out the casing it becomes unstable once again due to the weight. Here is a photo of the tv mounted. I dont have details of the self but can take them if you need to see them.

thanks. i'll try that. i just hope the plywood isn't too weak to support the tv.

If you are worried about the sides supporting the weight of the tv you could run 2x4 to the base so they are hold a majority of the weight. Like Gamester did in his cab http://forum.arcadecontrols.com/index.php?topic=94891.80 (http://forum.arcadecontrols.com/index.php?topic=94891.80)
