Since you have a Dreamcast in there, why not go 6-buttons? It appears as though there is room.
That's pretty cute, though.
-
Is that a widescreen display?
If so, then it is an odd choice for dreamcast where pretty much every game will be stretched to look bad.
Other than that... Looks good.

There are 7 buttons actually - I used mini buttons for left, right, and start. It can indeed fit six regular sized buttons but I wanted to have the main buttons look more like a dreamcast controller :)

It is a widescreen but most of the arcade compilation games will keep the game in correct aspect ratio with an added border.

Well, sure, I noticed that, but I know that I would drill an extra two holes if I got ahold of one.
Any info on the LCD you're putting in those? Link?

This is really a demo unit showing the options, but yea definitely room for a couple more buttons on the side.
I went with this for the LCD:
http://www.haieramerica.com/en/product/HLT10 (http://www.haieramerica.com/en/product/HLT10)
It fits perfectly inside, and has a built in battery. If I can get the Dreamcast wired up to a battery as well, it can be completely portable & free of a power outlet.

Will an original xbox fit inside?

Will an original xbox fit inside?
An original Xbox won't fit in there, but here are the inside dimensions:
bottom shelf:
width: 10 1/4"
height: 5 1/2"
depth: 9 1/4"
top shelf:
width: 10 1/4"
height: 8 1/8"
depth: 6 1/2"
Also, the buttons/controls will eat into some of the height towards the front of the bottom shelf.

Another thing...
I notice that the DC's fan is butt up against the side of the cab. You might want to consider a vent there. I don't know how hard it is to overheat a DC, as I have never done so to any of mine, but that seems like a sure way to find out.

I see what you mean, but it's only up against the wall because of the seven game cases next to it to illustrate the inside storage. The entire rear cover of the cabinet, though, is vented with the hole pattern and I haven't noticed any heat issues after hours of play.

anyone know the dimensions of a de-cased xbox?

I found them here:

I am sure you could manage to squeeze an Xbox into there fairly easily. (Maybe not with the DVD drive, but an xbox with a large hdd is the only way to go anyway ;D)
Motherboard:
Withd=8"-6 3/4" ___________________ 20.32 centimeter - 17.145 centimeter
Height=1 1/8"-1 1/2" _______________ 2.857 5 centimeter - 3.81 centimeter
Length=8 1/4"-8 1/8" _______________ 20.955 centimeter - 20.637 centimeter

What front end on the DC is that? I have a Mame DC EMU, but don't recognize what you're using.

Oh actually, no front end. I'm only using compilation discs and regular Dreamcast games. The one pictured above with the game menu is Atari Anniversary Edition.

I forgot about that one. Thanks! :applaud:

Saw those somewhere else recently. They look a lot better than just making them out of paper. They need to put a black balltop on that Donkey Kong, though.

Taking a step aside from our bartop arcade cabinets, we've added a custom Mountain Jukebox Marquee to our collection:

....and a good 50+ Neo Geo MVS Mini Marquees have been added as well:

Maybe you should change one of those to "Push for Credit" instead of reject. I know several of us have ours set up with microswitches behind the reject, and some people use rectangular lighted pushbuttons for credit.

We've been offering the Neo Geo MVS Mini marquees for a few months now, so I wanted to show them as well as our custom 150/138/120/111/109/100/X/N in 1 Multicart Mini Marquees.
You can see all MVS Mini Marquees offered here, $4.95 each:
http://emdkay.net/catalog/reproduction-mini-c-30.html (http://emdkay.net/catalog/reproduction-mini-c-30.html)
Professionally printed on either:
Resin Coated GLOSSY Photograde Paper
Resin Coated LUSTER Photograde Paper
Or upgrade to Translucent Polyester BACKLIGHT FILM for $5 additional each Mini marquee
Left: Puzzle Bobble on our Translucent Polyester BACKLIGHT FILM
Right: Baseball Stars Professional original glossy material

Here are the 150/138/120/111/109/100/X/N in 1 Multicart MVS Minis. They're also $4.95 each:
http://emdkay.net/catalog/advanced_search_result.php?keywords=multicart (http://emdkay.net/catalog/advanced_search_result.php?keywords=multicart)
Examples below are Translucent Polyester BACKLIGHT FILM prints:
Note that the original MVS Minis are printed onto glossy film. Our film is semi-matte, not glossy, and less thick. They light wonderfully (I'd say better than originals) and are durable for swapping in and out of the marquee holder. Our glossy photo paper is close to the original material and has a similar thickness, but not have the extra-smooth surface of glossy film.

Agreed. I would like to see "COIN / Player 1" through "COIN / Player 4" (I've only got 2 players, but others have gone all the way.)

As it is, I'd have to order 4 unique... hmm...

We can work with you on the wording on the assortment pack without having to order the custom pack. Just shoot us an email.

Adding to the "what else we carry" lineup, we offer a series of model arcade cabinet replicas by JW Customs. They're about 4.5" tall replicas of cabinets you likely already have in your home ;)

I'd like to be considered active in the BYOAC community offering reproduction marquees.. but sure you can de-sticky if the forum needs to be cleaned up.
