Title: What program do people use to make the button layout?
Post by: Kman-Sweden on October 18, 2009, 04:34:01 am
Hi there.
So I've almost desided what my button layout should look like.
HOWEVER I haven't found a program yet that will let me print out the bloody thing IN SCALE!  :banghead:
I've looked for templates on the Wiki site and in the file repository but to no avail.

I've tried CPSketch 2.0 and like the idea of being able to just pick some items and place them in the pattern I like but CPSketch 2.0 does not have all the parts I'm using.
I using two magstik+, a turbo twist 2, Electric ICE-T™ Deluxe RGB Arcade Trackball V2.0 with mountingplate, and Electric ICE-T buttons.

Being able to print to scale is the main issue right now.

I use inkscape.  It's free and I'm using it to print to scale fine.  The only thing is doenst do is print tiled pages, I import to illustrator for that.

I attached some inkscape files I made up, and my current CP mockup if that helps you.

I just started playing with this yesterday and must say I am suitably impressed.  Not only is it very easy to use (they have some great youtube tutorial vids to get you started) but you can easily make it a 3d model as well for better visualization.  I look forward to learning more about this program, and you certainly can't beat the price!  :)

I use Illustrator and Photoshop for pretty much all of my mock ups.

I use Visio.

Me too, although I use 3D programs to design in, I still prefer to use visio for layouts to print - too easy.
