there has to be a cheaper way to convert rgb to rca
I have a 9" display for my test bench to help make it portable for service calls
so far all i find is $79 converter boards
wanted to find something where i can slap one together
$80 to convert a signal is a little out there
either case if anyone knows of some plans or a site that I have yet to find let me know thanks
found one for $40 shipped on ebay so might just get it

By RCA I assume you mean composite video.
It might be cheaper to just find a small monitor that can accept RGB. The little Sony Trinitron 5" models have RGBS connections on the back, and a wide variety of adjustment options. You can sometimes find them for $50 or less on ebay.
One like this::
