Title: Ipac keystrokes?
Post by: rab236 on October 16, 2009, 06:48:19 pm
I have an ipac VE. is there any way to program it to represent a keystroke? i'm using MacMAME and escape doesn't quit the game. I need to press "command (apple) -q" to quit back into my frontend, EmuLaunch. is there a way to program my ipac board as a keystroke instead of a single key?

thanks. i realised that a short while after making my post. I'm on a mac and it's also available in the mac utility. the only problem is it quit any application that was open when I pressed used it. i wrote my own short application that quit MacMAME when opened, and quicksilver triggers to open the application. I changed the shift key from escape to F1 and everything works well. this was a roundabout way of doing this, but it makes sure my frontend doesn't quit also if the player 1 and 2 start buttons are mashed while still in the frontend.

Ya. I love MacMame but the control +q to cancel UI is a big killer for doing a nice multi-mame setup. My macs only run dedicated mames that don't change game types. Boatanchor PC's rule when it comes to building/maming old arcade games!

trust me, if I had the money i would get a cheap windows PC for my cab. I had an old Powermac G4 laying around, so i'm using that.

How is this an XP vs macOS issue?  Or are you saying XP is so slow that the FE can't open fast enough to carry over the esc button?
