Title: P360 and external power
Post by: mrbasdf on July 17, 2003, 12:35:05 am
I can't seem to power the P360 with the psx controller I am using (Mad Catz Dual Force), so I decided to go with external power instead. I've hooked up the P360 to the wall adapter, so it is getting 5v, but I don't know what to do with the ground wires. What do I do with the P360 ground and the wall adapter ground?

Really, has anyone done this before? Gotten a P360 to work on a psx controller? If you have, please let me know what you did, any help is appreciated.

Connect the wall adapter ground to the P360 ground and you should be fine.  I don't have any experience in connecting a P360 to a psx controller, but as far as the power goes, just connect the +5V and GND wires to the power supply +5V & GND wires.

Ok, I tried connecting the wires like you said, but nothing happened. The direction wires for the P360 are hooked up to the controller. I'm not sure, but do I need to somehow put the ground wire from the P360 to the controller? I tried a lot of combinations, but either nothing happened, or the joystick started making the character move in random directions. I believe I was able to get the stick to work when only one direction was connected, but when I connected them all, it stopped responding.

Does anyone know how to get this to work?

I got mine to work with a psx joystick

I wired the 5v to the VCC line on the PSX controller PCB.  The VCC line tested for about 3.3v on my multimeter but it's been working fine for quite a while now.
