I've been looking everywhere and I can't seem to find info on mapping mouse buttons to MaLa's control schemes. I've got a Happ 3" USB trackball and it comes prewired for mouse buttons. I have them hooked up properly, and they work fine when I navigate the PC, but when I go into MaLa and edit Player 1's control set, I can't get MaLa to recognize my inputs.
It will accept button presses of the keyboard, but not the clicks of the mouse. It seems like a couple of arrows pop up like I can scroll through options, but any button I press on the KB just inputs that key as the input. I know there is a way to set mouse buttons as inputs, since they are preset as another button in the menu already... Obviously I am missing something. Any help or pointing me in the right direction will be extremely helpful. Thanks.

Solved this last night. The problem seemed to be two separate issues combined. The first being a problem with the mame.ini file, which had the entry for the mouse set to 0 and it should be set to 1.
The second, seemed to be an issue with the connection of the trackball to the PC. Originally I had it connected to the USB port and it would work on the PC and MaLa but not in Mame. After I switched the connection to the PS/2 port, I was able to set the buttons and use the trackball in all of my trackball games.
Took me a couple hours of hair pulling, but it was really a simple fix! :D

Very strange. I am able to use my USB trackball in Mame just fine.

Ya, I'm not sure what the deal was. I even had problems with my standard USB mouse mapping buttons.
