Title: TV in the coin door slot? WTF?
Post by: DeLuSioNal29 on October 12, 2009, 01:02:49 pm
Saw this on e-bay today.  They are asking $499 or best offer.   :laugh2:

Someone cut open the coin door and put a TV in below to "save space".
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=130333634755 (http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=130333634755)

Here's the description"

"I purchased this Williams Upright Video about 7 years ago, and I was starved for space, so I cut out the lower cabinet and installed a 19" TV for playing Sony Playstation, Karaoke, and just watching TV.  If you do not want this TV, I can take the TV out - it is just sitting in the cabinet."

So, what, he'd sit on the floor for PlayStation or karaoke?  Ergonomically, that's just retarded.

Think of all the money you can save on birth control by just leaving the lower screen on while you play.   8)

This reminds me of one of those washer-dryers that stack on top of each other...

This guy must be one of those people that think watching that stuff is cool...

A microwave would make more sense and be more effective at that, and the bonus is that you can heat up your burritos without having to leave the cab!

That reminds me of when I did some market research with a questionaire a couple of years ago. Someone said they'd like to see some cup-holders on surface-tension systems. Considering we make arcade coffee tables, that's pretty retarded.

Huh? Did I not catch this right? Coffee table = cup holder... Or are you laughing with st?  :dunno

Regardless, I still wonder about the view angle of ST LCD's (or was there a transition to plasma and or LED screens?)

I asked this in a thread a while back. Apparently they now use a screen that was specifically chosen for it's excellent vertical viewing angle. On the old cabinet, the screen was mounted upside down as the view from below most LCD screens is better than when viewed from above. He said they had to rethink this as when the machine booted, all loading screens up to the front-end displayed upside down (actually the correct way up on the monitor), then the front-end and games ran rotated 180 degrees. Obviously this was not ideal aesthetically.

Sometimes I kick or knee the cab when I lose.  I guess this would be a poor candidate for me?   :laugh2:

...The other controls were actually going to be underneath the panel.  It's a 2-in-1 and you flip the cab around.  Shame he never finished it...

Every 3 or 4 months I completely forget about crapmame, then someone brings it up again and I LOL all over again. Good thing the guy puts one of his own cabs in there. Too bad he hasn't updated it in forever tho... :<
