do anyone knows what this is i just got this game from my dad i can play but i have no sound

do you have the sound board? it's a secondary PCB board. it should have a power cable & a data cable going to it from the main.

try ebay or the buy/sell/trade section here.

if it's the same version as the main pcb you're good to go other wise you "might" have to get some roms burnt for it.. im not sure what if anything changed between game revisions on the sound roms.. someone else would probably answer that better.

I know this is OLD, but figured he still has the game.  I think you can use ANY Mortal Kombat 1 sound card on ANY MK1 main pcb board.  I have 3 MK1 sound cards and they all work on a T-Unit version 4.0 main pcb board I have and 2 of them are SLIGHTLY different in design, but all work fine.  Same cables attach to same connectors on both types of these sound boards.  I also have a "new-to-me" dedicated MK1 I just bought and it has the Y-Unit main pcb board (version 4.0, too).  I can check those sound cards with the Y-Unit board if you need to know if they work with it.

This is an interesting poll. With regard to the question: "error irq not detected", I see that it is currently a tie, with 3 in favor of "error irq not detected" and 3 in favor of "error irq not detected". After considering my tie-breaking vote carefully, I think I'm going to go with "error irq not detected".

My sound boards all work with the Y-Unit just fine.

Are you kidding me?! I can't believe "error irq not detected" was leading 7-to-4. Some people just don't have a clue!
