Title: My first BIG MAME Cab *PICS!
Post by: 1337brian on October 10, 2009, 10:49:47 am
Well guys after many many months if not years trolling around here I have finally got my own MAME cab up and running (Barely). First off I used my own design and it turned out great! Aside from the TV measurements were a hair off and bends the back outwards a bit (Used flexible board with the holes in it),  but you can't tell from looking at it. I have 1 X-arcade tankstick (Weak, I know. Made it this way intentionally, baby coming in 7 months, no time or $$$ to build my own just yet) but I have left the perfect amount of space to add my own custom 4 player setup down the line (year maybe?). Using 2 LCD Topguns and a 42 inch sony TV. All that needs to be done is final install of the marquee, mount the coin door, final coat of paint, side art, Bezel, T-molding and heavy heavy "programming". I'm running a very customized version of gameex with all the game preview videos. but I haven't installed that hardrive with everything on it until I can afford another one to back everything up too, (Had a catastrophic data loss about a year ago) I don't want to take any chances.
I just wanted to say thanks to everyone on these boards, while I never have really asked for help directly, It would never have been possible for me to do this without this site and a few others. Just the amount of great ideas and help going on here is amazing! LONG LIVE MAME!

Looks great!  Nice work, is that a widescreen tube monitor?  Makes for a wider cabinet but it looks good regardless.  Have fun with it!

Nope not a widescreen, just a really fracking huge TV!  ;)
It might be 52 in. but I'm pretty sure it's 42 in. Can't remeber my dad gave it too me. I'll measure it when I get home tonight. Just ordered my new harddrive so the programming can commence! This has been a lot of fun so far just building it, I can't wait until all the small details are hashed out, once that happens this thing will look 100% legit, once I get rid of my tankstick  :P
