Title: taito stratovox

hi everybod
i would like your advice on a cab
i have seen a stratovox cab for 60 dollar
it has a broken monitor(i have a spare)
should i buy it or look for something else

If it's in good shape otherwise, I say snag it.  Not only is it a good game, but it has, IIRC, the historical value of being the first game to actually employ something close to human speech (it wasn't great sounding, but it was pretty cool for the time.)

Now if you mean to MAME it, that would be a shame unless it is in really, really poor condition.

the cab is in very good shape ,just the monitor does nothing.
i intent to restore it, i alread have a mame.
i think i am going to pick it up tommorow
any tips on what tool look for when i see it are welkom

Without a monitor, you would be taking a chance.  There's no way to tell if the monitor is the problem (or the only problem) without slapping another monitor on the beast to see what happens.

Check out the controls and listen for normal game sounds.  Play a game or two "blind" and see if the game sounds like it is responding to the controls and running properly.

Take a look at the boards and make sure they don't have any parts missing, or obvious scorch marks.

Other than that, there's not much else you can look for, other than general cosmetics.

i have two spare monitors myself
it has game sounds so i think the monitor is the problem
