Title: Nanotech - new pinball options
Post by: Hoopz on October 09, 2009, 07:34:12 pm
I know a few people here follow David Foley religiously including the Feds.  I'm not sure if many have seen the new products Nanotech released recently.

Digital plunger:  http://www.nanotechent.com/mot-ionkit.php
Press release:  http://www.nanotechent.com/press-082509.php

This came out back in August but with his legal issues, people may not have seen the news.  I'm sure it'll be too expensive for some, but if anyone does purchase it, I'd love to see a review.

Very cool package (albeit a bit pricey at $140 USD).  It says it supports nudges, but I don't see anything where it indicates how.  Does that mean that there is an accelerometer onboard that outputs X- and Y-Axis (or some other buttons) for which direction the bump was in?  I keep thinking about a digital pinball for the game room, but I'm not sure it would interact realistically enough to keep my interest.  If the nudge worked well, hmmm.

I have to admit, I think it'd be cool if someone could kitbash up an Xbox 360 Pinball Controller for Pinball Hall Of Fame The Williams Collection. :3

hundred-forty bucks pricey for both units, PnP?  I don't think so - especially since it's for a niche market. ---steaming pile of meadow muffin---, I might think about doing something like that since these are out.
